A little about myself, I came to Canada at a very young age and quickly grew away from my South Korean roots. I was surrounded by a large variety of cultures as I was raised in a multicultural community. I was incredibly confused as to who I really was.
As I entered post-secondary, I met more South Koreans and grew closer and more fond of my South Korean culture. Without realizing, I reconnected with my origins and started to notice that various aspects of my life would be influenced by what I learned about my heritage.
I became more open-minded and began to notice that aspects of how I think and create designs would become influenced by not only South Korean elements, but also all the different cultures that I was surrounded by growing up. It still surprises me that bits and pieces of who I am and how I grew up find its way onto my designs.
